Weltenwandern

A music-theater collage about bird migration. For ages 10 and up.

what

DieOrdnungDerDinge gazes at the theater sky, tracing the flight paths of numerous migratory birds, and delves into the abilities needed on land, water, and in the air to reach distant lands in the music-theater collage. The three performers capture the sounds of chirping and cawing, pausing with the birds on their incredible journeys afar. They take a look at the migration lines of their own families and trace back the footsteps of crane, nightingale, goose, and cuckoo: the ensemble discovers the sixth sense of birds, marvels at their anatomy, and is inspired by their flight skills. A composition of baroque and contemporary bird sounds, images, and stories about the enduring migration that seems to connect human and bird emerges. From the sound of departure in autumn, and of birds that never land…
